Motorola rechargeable remote control

Motorola announced an accessory for its popular VIP series of IPTV set tops that eliminates the hassle and expense of replacing batteries and helps consumers locate misplaced remote controls. The new rechargeable remote control and its base station are armed with RF (radio frequency) “find” functionality. A press of a switch on the base station triggers an audible tone and flashing light on all remote controls to help lead consumers to a missing unit.

Taking center stage here at the Consumer Electronics show Sony unveiled the Rolly entertainment player. Spawned from the Sony portable audio technology and artificial intelligence, along with the company’s design and entertainment legacy, this palm-sized, egg-shaped device provides a unique combination of music, motion and fun. “The Sony Rolly is the latest example of Sony’s expertise in entertainment and technology,” said Steve Haber, senior vice president of the Digital Imaging and Audio Division at Sony Electronics. “This isn’t just another gadget; the Rolly is a sophisticated piece of entertainment technology.” The Sony Rolly device will be available this spring, price is not mentioned by Sony.
